Kentucky

Last weekend we were lucky enough to go to the Kentucky Derby! Debbie wanted to surprise Todd for his birthday. Needless to say he found out a little early. But was super excited! We had a blast! It was quit the experience. It was so fun to see everyone dressed up in their best. Definitely amazing hats, some crazy wild suits and more drunk people than you could imagine!! My Mom was so kind to come out and watch Mckinly for us. I was going to take her but due to it being a super short weekend I decided it was better to leave her home. Was I so ever glad of that decision!!! At Churchill Downs people were allowed to smoke, and tons of people took advantage of it. It was crazy! There would have been no way for me to be there with her. So I am super grateful for my Mom. I know that those two had a great weekend for sure.

While in Kentucky we eat at some yummy places that were featured on the Travel Channel. We visited the Louisville Slugger Museum. Which was very cool and totally made me want to go to a baseball game. While we were there Darren had a bat made with his signature engraved on it!
We had a wonderful weekend. It was fun to be at the horse races. We did bet on some of the races but sadly no one won in the end. It was fun to be in the ambiance. Thank you Neilsons for a memorable weekend.
Sadly none of our horses won! My horse Dialed in #8 did have good odds. But he did not even place! All in all fun to bet on some of the races!
